'Figure of Jesus' Appears Above Colombian City Where 17 Died in Landslide (Video)

Believers in the Colombian city of Manizales, where 17 people died last week in a landslide, were reportedly left astonished after what some described as the "figure of Jesus" appearing in the form of sunlight streaming through the clouds.
MailOnline reported on Wednesday that one believer, identified as Marya de Iesus, recorded the phenomenon on video, and shared it with people online.
"Jesus Christ was visiting our Colombian town, he calmed down the sky and was listened to," the woman said.
The video shows a number of other believers watching the unusual light formation, with one man heard calling out in the background: "Oh, my God, my blessed God, come here to see the misery. Look at this, look at this, blessing God. Glory to the Lord.
He asks: "Do you see the Lord there, standing up?"
Seventeen people were killed in landslides caused by heavy rain there last week, BBC News reported. Mud and rocks destroyed several houses on the steep hills, while running water, gas and electricity were all suspended.
Colombia, which is a predominantly Roman Catholic nation, has been devastated by a number of natural disasters, with 290 people killed and 300 missing in another landslide in the southwestern town of Mocoa earlier in April.
Colombian authorities at the time said they would look into whether building regulations had been enforced.
"This is not about punishment it's about prevention," said national comptroller Edgardo Maya, who ordered the inquiry.
"What good does it do to punish people now, after (so many) deaths?"
President Juan Manuel Santos, who visited Manizales and promised humanitarian aid, said that more people are likely to have died in the latest disaster.
"We are helping to find the disappeared and unfortunately the number will rise," Santos said.
People responding online to the video of the "figure of Jesus" said that the vision is bringing comfort to the suffering.
"In this moment of pain, people want to believe it is a divine item that gives them hope and strength to keep on living and fighting," Sandra Mejia wrote.
Other respondents, however, such as Noe Bazan, argued that people are simply seeing sunlight breaking through the clouds, and nothing more.
"This is a natural phenomenon with the light of the sun through different types of cloud," he suggested.
"It happens in all parts of the world."

Let The Children First Be Filled by Adeyinka Ojo

Jesus said unto her; let the children first be filled…… Mark 7 vs. 27 Jesus is a father indeed to all his children. His major concern is the welfare of his family. Early in the morning he carries us in his arms, in the night he cares for us and wipe away all our secret tears. His word says; children are the heritage of the lord. We are God’s heritage, he owns us. He cares for us. He suffers no man to do them harm and he rebuke the kings for their sake. The loving father gives food and shelter to his children. He will not allow you to be bruised. He’s not happy seeing you in that ugly situation. He’s hurt when you are hurt. He says; for the hurt of the daughter of my children am I hurt. The chastisement of your peace is upon him. He holds you in the hollow of his hands. Your name is boldly written on his palm. He says; I will never leave you nor forsake you. Jesus wants you to be filled. He says; Let the children first be filled. You are not a subject of ridicule. T...

The Cross Before The Throne By D. M. Panton

The Cross Before The Throne    By D. M. Panton     Our Lord Jesus Christ summarized a vital principle of the heavenly kingdom when He said:  "Every one that exalteth himself shall be humbled; and he that  humbleth himself  shall be exalted"  (Luke 14:11). Our Lord was Himself the ultimate fulfillment of that which He taught. He humbled Himself as none other ever did or could, and correspondingly He is exalted above and beyond all.     In Philippians 2:5, the Apostle Paul not only pictures this truth but also enforces its obedience.  " Have  this mind in you,"  he says, for it is within our control and choice and therefore within our responsibility. This humility  "was also in Christ Jesus, who humbled Himself"  (v. 8),   who made Himself void by His own act (Moule). In Christ the principle is put in its most extreme form. As the span of Christ’s descent was the deepest of which the universe ...

4 Sexual Sins Every Christian Should Avoid

4 Sexual Sins Every Christian Should Avoid Bert M Farias Excessive sexual sin and nakedness is one of the marks of our Western culture and much of the world today. Everything is sensual. Everything must be sexy. We live in a sex-crazed world, and nakedness jumps out at us from everywhere. It is becoming more and more difficult for men and women to keep themselves in a state of moral purity. Sexual sin and neglecting the laws of purity in the body of Christ is one of the elements that can potentially bring weakness, sickness, and even premature death to many in the Church. It is one forgotten aspect of not discerning the Lord's body (1 Cor. 11:29-31). Those last statements sound so primitive in today's contemporary church. There is a lack of ministry from pastors in this area because of the fear of forthcoming accusations of being unloving, judgmental, legalistic, and ministering guilt and condemnation. Frankly, we've lost our way in this regard. Correction, rebuk...
