The True Grace of God by Zac Poonen

False grace” is not a 21st-century phenomenon. It was being preached even in the days of the apostles. Jude speaks of “some godless people who had slipped in unnoticed among the churches, and who had distorted the message of the grace of God in order to excuse their immoral ways” and who were teaching “that after we become Christians we can do just as we like without fear of God's punishment” (Jude 4 - Today’s English Version and Living Bible). So Peter was prompted by the Holy Spirit to write a whole letter explaining what the true grace of God was (1 Peter). At the end of that letter, he says, “I have written to you briefly, exhorting and testifying that this is the true grace of God. Stand firm in it!” (1 Pet.5:12). So, if we study Peter’s first letter, we can understand what true grace is. Check yourself and see whether you have the true grace of God: The Holy Spirit says that the true grace of God: - Will make you live in obedience to God’s Word – and not according to the

In Times Like This by Adeyinka Ojo

W e live in the days when we need to show the evidence of our relationship with Christ to the world system. Generations come and go but the word of God remains the same to this day. The word of our Lord Jesus Christ is coming to pass at  a rate that should seriously alarm us. The people of the world are asking us for proofs of both our stewardship and our faith. Just as Jesus said, we are the salt and the light of the world; a city on a hill that  cannot be hidden.  Sadly, we have refused to measure  up to the standard and the world is becoming  unbearable for mankind; simply because we are at  ease in Zion. We are living in perilous times. Men are lovers of  themselves; lovers of money, and are boastful, proud,  lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God. Majority  are chasing after shadows, looking for things that  naturally should be added to them.  We have misplaced  our priority; we have left Jesus at 'Jerusalem', thinking  He is still in our com

Faith Tested By Fire by Zac Poonen

Apostle Peter says in 1 Peter that, all the trials that we go through on earth are only, “for a little while” (1 Peter 1:6). From the standpoint of eternity, even 100 years is only a little while. This eternal perspective is what we must always have in the midst of our trials. All the apostles had this perspective. James refers to our life as a vapour (James 4:14). Paul refers to “our momentary affliction” (2 Corinthians 4:17). Remember that the theme of 1 Peter is the true grace of God. So one of the first things we understand here is that it is perfectly normal for those who receive the true grace of God to be distressed by various types of trials. The purpose of those trials is to prove the genuineness of your faith – like “gold tested in the fire”. When gold is dug from the depths of the earth it is not pure. The only way to purify it is by putting it into the fire. You can’t purify gold by scrubbing it with soap and water. That only removes the dirt. But to remove the metals t

Let Jesus Guide Your Prayer by Wesley L. Duewel

If Jesus has one concern for our world today, it is the same concern He had when He was on earth – that the harvest be reaped. Jesus realized that His disciples had not yet caught the harvest vision; they were often more concerned about themselves than about reaching the unreached. Therefore, they failed to see from Christ’s perspective the people they met. Jesus saw people as they were, and loved them. His love was a reaching love that demonstrated His whole redemptive mission to earth. Moved by the needs of hurting people, Jesus reached out to them. Look at Jesus and learn how He desires for your love to reach out to others. When Jesus saw Peter’s mother-in-law in bed, He went to her, touched her hand, and healed her. When the leper fell at Jesus’ feet, He reached out His hand and touched him. When two blind men came asking for mercy, Jesus touched their eyes, and they could see. He touched the ears and tongue of the deaf and dumb man, and he began to hear and to speak. “He we

THE LIGHT OF HIS LOVING-KINDNESS by David Wilkerson

“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord” (2 Corinthians 3:18). If Jesus Christ is your Lord, He has commanded the light of His loving-kindness to shine in your soul. This glory of Christ — this tender loving-kindness that shines in our hearts as we pray and search His Word — changes us, “from glory to glory,” into the likeness of Christ. And the revelation of love, compassion and caring we receive from Him must shine out of us to others. This revelation is increased daily within us “by the Spirit of the Lord.” Indeed, it is the Holy Spirit who leads us into the glory of Christ. The Spirit shines in us and changes us through every circumstance. Finally, He shows us how to shine His caring, loving-kindness to others who are in need. I ask you: What are your present circumstances doing to you and in you? Is there a sweetness of Christ shining out of you?

DON’T LIVE BY LOGIC BUT BY THE WORD by Adeyinka Ojo

Sometimes God sound so unreasonable! Why? Because He does not live in the sense world! God lives in the realm of the spirit and His moves in our lives may not make sense to us. On this note, the only way to access anything that God makes available to us is by believing Him; our believe must lead us to appropriate action. We cannot say we believe God without taking the corresponding action, even the devil believes and shivers. Our action justify our believe! We are really what the bible says we are. If you believe that statement, then you will live in line of the written words. The word of God is the pattern for our lives, it teaches us how to behave and show us who we really are. Our responsibility is to believe this word, even if it negates our culture and pre-knowledge. We should believe what it says about our finances, health, family, relationship etc Therefore, live by the word! I am Adeyinka Ojo. Word of Life Today Ibadan.

Do You Really Believe In Christ? By Adeyinka Ojo

Sometimes we need to be critical of ourselves and think deep about what we believe and what we think we believe in. When we are face with critical situation and challenge its then we know who we really are and what we really believe. On a face value we think and concluded that yes, I am born into Christian family, my parent do attend church service even twice a week and as a result of the upbringing we concluded that we don’t only believe in Christ but also we believe we are Christian. Don’t conclude that you know Christ until you have an encounter with His resurrection power! This is the power that raise us up from our dead state to being alive with God. The power transformed us from earthly being to heavenly being. Where then do we encounter this power? Right there in God’s word! The word of God carries resurrection power. God to where the word is preach and let the word transform you . I am Adeyinka Ojo Word of Life Today
